Future Goals: Continue growth of FD Trisport, get a win in 2011, cycllocross racing, Leadville 100, Ragbrai with my boys when they are old enough to do whole week.
Music that get the heart rate up: Black Keys, Cracker, The Features, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Rage Against the Machine, 3OH!3.
Current City/Home town: Me and my wife Kathy are both from South Dakota originally but met here in Fort Dodge and call this our home.
Favorite Events/Races: My favorite triathlons are Big Creek, Pig Man Half, and Ironman Wisconsin. I used to really like the local mountain bike races that were around a few years ago.

Primary Interest/other info: Cycling, do a bit of running in the off season, rode as a kid, turned 16, got a part time job at a fast food joint, got fat, went to college, got a haircut and got a real job, got a bike in spring of 2005, started racing in 2006, haven't looked back.
Current City/Home town: Born and raised in Alden, IA, one horse town with lots of cowboys. Moved to Fort Dodge after high school to attend University of Southwest Fort Dodge (aka ICCC).
Favorite Events/Races: Snake Alley Criterium, Clear Lake Weekend, and any Time Trial. If you twist my arm I had a lot of fun at Living History Farms run in the off season.
Significant Results: Win some, lose some, have fun at all of them.
Goals: State Time Trial, make the rest of the pack cringe when the orange and blue crew show up.
Music that get the heart rate up: Warm
up: Fun stuff, "Grace
Kelly" by Mika, "Pinball Wizard" and "Magic
Bus"(live at Leeds) by The
Who. Long boring

endurance rides=Blink 182's "Dude
Ranch" album, longer rides double it up with their "Take of your
pants and Jacket" album. For some Time Trial intervals I like "All
Nightmare Long" by Metallica.
The line "Hunt you down without mercy" focuses me on my minute man
just up the road. Going to Lehigh and ride up school hill I like to hear
"You Say" by the Dirty Little rabbits. Sync up a low
powerful cadence with the beat. The last song I listen to before a roller race
"Happy?" by Mudvayne. Short and violent, just
like the effort. Post workout cooldown always involves Jimi's "Red
House" Live version from his greatest hits 2 album, and the White
Stripes "Ball and Biscuit".

Jason Hamilton
Primary Interest/other info: I started originally working out to get into shape again in the fall of 2009. One of the tools I used to do that was running and an odd thing happened that winter, I missed running. I started back up again in the spring and my boss planted the seed in my mind that I should try a marathon. I blew him off at first because it sounded crazy, but deep down it was one of those things you always wished you could do. About a month went by and I decided that I would do it. So I signed up for the Minneapolis / St Paul Medtronic Marathon about the first week of March 2010. Kind of funny... as an afterthought I signed up for three other races Dam to Dam, The BIX, and The Run Around the Lake at Kennedy. I was able to do two out of the three and had a blast. I wasn't able to do the BIX as I had strained my calf and needed to nurse it back to health for the Marathon.
Oc

tober 3 2010, I completed my first Marathon in
3:33:49. So my primary interest is running but I like cycling and I'm working at making my swimming stronger. I know the cross training will benefit my running and maybe I'll have fun doing some TRIs. I also plan to ride all of RAGBRAI this year. I enjoy doing the Dragon Boat races and have been asking around for people to make a team. If it is something you would like to do let me know. I'm always looking for another team member.
Current City/Home town: My son and I live in Fort Dodge. I'm originally from Bancroft. I work at Boehringer-Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc., BIVI or just BI. Jacob attends St. Eds and runs XC, track, and wrestles. (I think my running rubbed off on him a bit).
Favorite Events/Races: Dam to Dam, Living History Farms.
Significant Results: Ran and got skinny...HAHA!
Goals: Qualify for the Boston Marathon. Transition into doing some Triathlons.
Music that gets the heart rate up: AC/DC, Black Eyed Peas, Metallica, Ram Jam...basically anything with a good beat. I usually don't I-Pod it when I run though. What can I say I'm a bit of a purist there.

Devon Gurnett
Primary
Interest/other info: My
primary interest is running, I first started running to
lose weight. While just running for fun and to lose weight i lost
about 40 pounds and am still working to lose more. After losing some
weight my running times were starting to get
faster and I started to really enjoy doing 5ks. I bought a bike last
summer to use for cross training and that is another thing I have really
started to enjoy doing; I would like to buy a better bike and then do more
cycling. Also lately I just started to try to improve my swimming and
would like to do a triathlon in the future. Also in the future I would
like to start to longer races and maybe a marathon one day.
Current City/Home town: I currently live in Otho, IA
Favorite Events/Races: Midnight Madness, Fort Dodge Adventure Race, Firecracker
40, Rosy Cheeks 5K
Significant Results: Have improved my 5k time about 4 min. and mile time
by about min. and half since first
started training.
Goals: Close goals sub 20 min. 5K, 5.30 min. mile, and do a triathlon.
future maybe a marathon.
Music that gets the heart rate up: All
Time Low, Four Year Strong, Forever the Sickest
kids, A Day to Remember, 3oh!3, Blink 182, Fall Out Boy,
Chunk Captain No Chunk, New Found Glory
Jenny Benedict
Primary Interest/other info: I started running in
2010. I gave up on golf - I didn't get to go that frequently to get any better
and I wasn't any good so I never went - it was a vicious circle. I sold my
clubs and bought a new pair of ASICS and signed up for my first race - The 8K
Dam Skunk Race from Humboldt to Rutland. I just
didn't want to be last and I wasn't...barely. I did four other races last year
including Run for the Roses in Ames. This year I
plan on doing the D2D 5K and whatever other 5Ks I can find. Running is a great
way to get rid of some pent up frustrations and energy and a chance for my son
and I to do some strolling (literally!).
Current City/Home town: Fort Dodge,
originally from Osage. I work for Land O'Lakes in the CROPLAN Genetics soybean
department. My husband is a grain merchandiser for AGP in Eagle Grove and we
have one son, Bowen who will be 2 in September.
Favorite Events/Races: Run for the Roses in Ames
Significant Results: I PR'd Run for the Roses, came in under 36:00
with the help of a running buddy to keep me moving (the hill at the end of that
race is brutal!).
Goals: Dam to Dam 20K, IMT Half, the Team Ortho series
Music that gets the heart rate up: Anything goes - there's
everything from AC/DC and Metallica to Ke$ha to Jason Aldean and everything in between on the iPod.
